Shalay began with a single commission and a conviction that jewellery should be made slowly. Every piece is drawn by hand, cast in solid gold and finished by one goldsmith from start to end.

One pair of hands.
Most jewellery is made on a line: one person casts, another sets, a third polishes, and nobody is responsible for the whole. We do it the other way round. A single goldsmith takes a piece from wax to final polish, which is slower and costs more, and is the reason the pieces look the way they do in the hand rather than only in the photograph.
Nothing hidden.
Every piece states its metal, its purity, its weight and its stones, because those are the things that determine what a piece is actually worth. Our gold is hallmarked. Our diamonds come with their certificates. If a stone is lab-grown we say so, plainly, on the product page — not in a footnote.
How a piece is made

Drawn
Every design starts on paper, at actual size, so proportion is decided before anything is cast.

Cast
Carved in wax and cast in solid gold, to your size — rings are not stretched from stock.

Set
Stones are set by hand under a microscope. Claws are cut from the metal itself, not soldered on.
- 04
Finished
Polished through seven grades, then checked against the drawing before it goes in the box.
